SUBJECT: Pat Dewar Selected to Lead New International Organization; Paul Lemmo to Lead Corporate Strategy & Business Development
I am pleased to announce the formation of a new organization, Lockheed Martin International (LMI), and the appointment of Pat Dewar as Executive Vice President (EVP) to lead it. Paul Lemmo will succeed Pat as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development; he has also been appointed a corporate officer and a member of my Executive Leadership Team. Both appointments are effective immediately.
Lockheed Martin International
Under Pat’s leadership, LMI will deliver on our global, regional, and country-specific strategies, maintain and strengthen strategic customer and partner relationships, and actively seek new partnerships. In partnership with the Business Areas, the LMI team will develop international business plans, establish business commitments, and support business capture campaigns. Pat and the Business Area EVPs will be jointly responsible for growing our international business from 17 percent to 20 percent of our annual sales in the next few years. LMI will have dual headquarters in London and Reston, Va.
LMI will be supported by a dedicated internal executive board comprised of Pat and the Business Area EVPs. The Business Area EVPs will continue to be responsible for international production and operations.
With nearly three decades of international business experience, Pat is uniquely qualified to lead LMI and strengthen our customer and partner relationships outside of the U.S. Prior to being named the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development in 2010, Pat held a number of leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including Vice President of Corporate International Business Development, Vice President of Business Development for the Electronic Systems business area, Vice President of VH-71 Presidential Helicopter Program, and the European Program Director for the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) based in Munich, Germany.
Pat has served as Chairman of the Boards of Directors for Lockheed Martin UK Holdings Limited, Lockheed Martin España, S.A., and Lockheed Martin Australia Pty Ltd., as well as the Lockheed Martin UAE Advisory Board. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Swarthmore College. Reporting to Pat in the new LMI organization are the following executives:
- Stephen Ball, Vice President of Lockheed Martin United Kingdom;
- Raydon Gates, Vice President of Lockheed Martin Australia;
- Jim Gribbon, Regional Vice President of Asia, and
- Andy Winns, Regional Vice President of Middle East and Northern Africa.
To be named at a later date are leaders for Lockheed Martin Canada, Lockheed Martin Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lockheed Martin United Arab Emirates and the regional leader for Western Hemisphere, Israel & India, which will cover Europe and South America.
The team appointed to support LMI will have a dotted line reporting relationship to Pat and include:
- Ken Possenriede, Vice President and Chief Financial officer of LMI, in addition to his duties as Corporate Vice President and Treasurer;
- Rick Kirkland, Vice President of Corporate International Business Development;
- Robert Rangel, Vice President for Programs and Global Security Policy, Washington Operations;
- Gordon Johndroe, Vice President of Media Relations and LMI Communications;
- John Evans, Vice President of International Engineering and Technology;
- Kevin Darrenkamp, Vice President and General Counsel of LMI, in addition to his Washington Operations duties;
- Paula Williams, Vice President of International Human Resources; and
- Thad Coakley, Acting Director of International Ethics, in addition to his duties as Director, IS&GS Ethics and Business Conduct.
Corporate Strategy and Business Development
In his new role as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development, Paul Lemmo is responsible for global strategies and new business capture, and leading the Lockheed Martin business development organization with offices in 25 countries and 25 U.S. customer locations. Paul has more than 25 years of experience in the defense industry as a successful engineer, program manager and business development executive. Most recently Paul was Vice President of IS&GS Business Development and Strategy where he was responsible for leading the business development and strategy organizations that identify and capture new business and develop the strategy for the IS&GS business area. He joined Lockheed Martin in 1989 and he has progressed through increasingly responsible engineering and business development positions through his career.
Paul holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
