The Missiles and Fire Control Archbald site is one of the largest high technology engineering and manufacturing employers in the Greater Scranton area. Archbald products include Paveway II laser-guided bombs and laser guided training rounds; specialized instrumentation, control devices and shipboard packaging for the US Navy; and manufacturing services such as a state-of-the-art metal crafting and electrical assembly capability.

In March 2005, the facility won the prestigious Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence, showing Lockheed Martin’s continued commitment to bringing the best quality and value to customers.

From: The Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport
Follow Route 81 North (about eight miles) to the exit marked East 6 Carbondale (right hand lanes). This highway is called by either of two names; "Route 6" or "The Robert P. Casey Highway." Travel east for eight (8) miles.
To Exit 4 (Salem Road - Archbald / Cortez).
Turn left onto Salem Road to Archbald (use caution, this is a steep hill). Follow Salem Road (stay straight) to Church Street (6/10 mile).
Turn left at stop sign onto Church Street and turn right at stop sign onto Wayne Street and cross a small bridge.
Turn left onto Main Street and follow for 6/10  mile.
Turn right on Kennedy Drive (Mobil gas station on your right) and drive up the hill for 9/10 mile.
Entrance to Lockheed Martin is on the right.
Follow driveway up the hill and make the first left to the visitor parking area.

Environmental, Safety and Health

The Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Policy of Missiles and Fire Control is to operate our facilities in a regulatory compliant, responsible manner that protects the environment and surrounding communities, commits to pollution prevention and prevention of occupational injury and ill health, conserves natural resources, and provides a safe and healthful workplace for employees, contractors and visitors. The policy requires employees to:

  • Integrate ESH considerations into strategic business decisions, engineering design, procurement, facilities management and production.
     
  • Continually improve the environmental aspects and safety and health performance of our business and incorporate establish and review ESH goals in applicable performance measurements.
     
  • Cultivate ESH responsibility by all employees at all organizational levels and those who work on behalf of and under the control of the company.
