More than just a new look
In an effort to provide a better, more consistent user experience, www.lockheedmartin.com has undergone a transformation.
“The site will continue to serve as the official public source of news and information about Lockheed Martin, including our capabilities, programs, culture, history, leadership, organization, locations, job openings and many other features,” said Ron Rand, senior vice president, Lockheed Martin Corporate Communications. “We created the site with the end-user always in mind to ensure all of our audiences and stakeholders are satisfied with our content and the way it is presented, and that it’s a fitting representation of the world’s leading global security company.”
The redesign project started with a comprehensive investigation into audience behavior on the website to better understand who was using the site, what their needs were, and how to best organize information for each segment of the audience.
The resulting design provides a better showcase for visual and interactive content, allows for easier sharing of the website’s content in social media networks such as Facebook® and Twitter®, and provides a site experience centered around audience needs. In addition to the visual changes to the website, content will be better optimized for search, increasing the discoverability of information for both visitors on the site and those searching for information on search engines.
“Our website is a critical tool in telling the Lockheed Martin story,” said Bo Edwards, Lockheed Martin web manager. “This redesign offers a more flexible and modern experience for our audience, and helps us share our story more easily.”
