Lockheed Martin Donates $50,000 to Central Florida American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund
ORLANDO, FL, 18-AUG-04 --
Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] announced today it is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross of Central Florida Disaster Relief Fund to help area citizens affected by Hurricane Charley.
“The American Red Cross of Central Florida is providing disaster relief support to the Florida communities impacted by Hurricane Charley,” said Randy Bigum, American Red Cross board representative and a vice president at Lockheed Martin in Orlando.
“The men and women of Lockheed Martin are directing their donation to this disaster relief fund so the contribution will only be used for that purpose. Lockheed Martin wants to make this commitment in support of our employees and the communities in which we live and work,” Bigum said.
Lockheed Martin has approximately 6,200 employees in three businesses located in Central Florida. The three Lockheed Martin businesses are donating $25,000 to the relief fund with an equal contribution provided by Lockheed Martin Corporation, based in Bethesda, MD.
