Lockheed Martin Raises More Than $1 Million for Operation USO Care Package
Bethesda, Md., 31-MAY-07 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] recently surpassed the $1 million mark in support of Operation USO Care Package. As a four-star partner of the program, Lockheed Martin's support comes in the form of employee contributions and corporate monetary donations.

In 2004, Lockheed Martin launched its Lockheed Martin Employees Care program, which collects online donations to fund the care packages.
Lockheed Martin employees have volunteered more than 18,000 hours to help stuff more than 109,000 care packages. The corporation also has donated funds to nine USO centers around the world and sponsored USO charitable events.
In 2001, Operation USO Care Package was initiated as a way for the American public to help boost the morale of deployed troops, and convey the gratitude of the American public. Care packages contain an assortment of items requested by service men and women, such as prepaid international calling cards, disposable cameras, toiletries and entertainment items. More than one million care packages have been distributed to service members deploying to Afghanistan, Iraq and other overseas locations, as well as troops arriving and departing on rest and recuperation flights.
