Lockheed Martin Facility in Orlando Earns Local Business Diversification Award
ORLANDO, FL, 10/03/2007 -- A Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] business unit in Orlando has received the Governor's Business Diversification Award from Enterprise Florida for an expansion that included a new Research and Development Building and the creation of 230 new jobs.
The award recognizes companies for diversifying and enriching the state's economy through job creation and distinctive community involvement and investment. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control received the honor September 18 at an awards ceremony during the 23rd Annual Florida Industry Appreciation Week event.

Lockheed Martin was awarded the Business Expansion award in the Mega Market category (for a county population 750,001 and higher). Completed in November 2006, the Research and Development tower is part of a more than $175 million expansion effort, offering 250,000-square-feet of additional research and technology space to sustain the workforce and attract new talent.
