Lockheed Martin Award FBI Contract

ROCKVILLE, Md., 10/27/2010 --

Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] will help protect the FBI's critical information assets under a new 5-year, $23 million agreement with the FBI Security Division. The task order, which was issued as part of the recently-awarded FBI Information Assurance Technology Infusion (IATI) Blanket Purchase Agreement, calls for broad information assurance services including the development, evaluation and integration of security technology safeguards.

"The cyber threats that federal government agencies face today are serious and fast-evolving—especially when it comes to information sharing," said June Shrewsbury, vice president, Lockheed Martin Security and Citizen Protection. "That's why we're helping the FBI protect their information assets by putting into place advanced access control and cross-domain solutions that reduce risk and address vulnerabilities."

The FBI Security Division is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure work environment for FBI employees and others with access to FBI facilities, and for preventing the compromise of national security and FBI information. Lockheed Martin has been supporting the FBI Security Division since 2003 when it was awarded the FBI's first IATI contract.

Under the IATI program, Lockheed Martin experts have helped improve FBI access control, information system application security, network access, and network perimeter security. The new task order will continue that work to further support the integration and protection of the FBI's assets and enhance information sharing across the Bureau.
