Course Objectives

After successful completion of this course, attendees will be knowledgeable of:

  • The mission, structure, and functions of the J-2X, and the process flow of intelligence information from the collector through the exploitation centers to the J-2X
  • Theater, national, and multinational support and coordination elements within the area of operations of a J-2X.

Major Topics

  • Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Methodologies:  Attendees learn about the five counterintelligence activities and three functional areas of human intelligence.
  • DoD CI and HUMINT Capabilities: Attendees gain an understanding of how the US military services execute their respective CI and HUMINT responsibilities.

  • Interagency Support and Collaboration: This lesson familiarizes students with the theater and national elements that may be present in a JFCs AOR and require J-2X coordination and liaison.
  • Multinational Operations: This lesson highlights the importance of a coalition intelligence structure that makes our partners feel as though they are part of the team, while at the same time ensuring country-specific intelligence is protected by their respective organizations.
