The Netherlands is Lockheed Martin’s oldest partner on the European continent, a partnership it continues today with solid government and industrial collaboration.
The Netherlands is a member of the international F-35 program as a Level 2 partner in the System Development and Demonstration (SDD) phase and joined the Production, Sustainment and Follow-on Development (PSFD) phase. The Netherlands is one of three nations currently testing F-35 aircraft, alongside the U.S. and UK, having recently bought their second test aircraft.
Major programs include:
F-16- The Dutch were one of the original co-producers of the F-16, and the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) is still the largest operator of the aircraft within the European Participating Governments (EPG).
C-130 H- Supporting Dutch forces worldwide, the Air Force currently operates four C-130 H models.
Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3)- This missile significantly increases the firepower of the Dutch Patriot air defense system.
Arrowhead Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS) - The advanced electro-optical fire control system that AH-64 Apache helicopter pilots use for safe flight in day, night, or bad weather missions. M-TADS/PNVS advanced technology improves system performance by over 150 percent. Reliability increases more than 150 percent while maintenance actions decrease approximately 60 percent. Over 1100 systems have been delivered.
Mk-41 Vertical Launch System- This system supports all four Dutch “LCF” Air Defense and Command frigates, launching SM2 and ESSM missiles.
LANTIRN – The RNLAF selected LANTIRN targeting pods to allow aircrews to operate worldwide at altitudes up to 40,000 feet to meet the requirements for precision attack.
F-35 EOTS - Embedded in the F-35, EOTS is the latest generation infrared sensor technology that provides high-resolution imagery, automatic tracking, infrared-search-and-track, laser designation and range-finding, and laser spot tracking at greatly increased standoff ranges.
