Temple Trial
– each team is assigned to a temple trial quadrant. Each quadrant includes same number of rooms (A-E). However, all quadrants share Observatory (E) and each quadrant shares Dark Forest (C) and Treasury of the Orb (D) with adjacent quadrants. All teams start and end trial round in home zone (outside Broken Bridge (A) entrance).

Strategy – each round is timed; teams have 8 minutes to collect artifacts and get back to home zone to win. Shared rooms: Dark Forest (C) and Treasury of the Orb (D) include 1 artifact (team that collects artifact receives points). Observatory (E) artifacts can be obtained by any team.

Broken Bridge (A)
– teams start trial by ascending ramp to enter temple. They may negotiate a sharp turn and tight corner to pick up artifact or progress to another room. They may ascend ramp and jump gap to Pit of Despair platform to enter Observatory (E) or descend ramp to enter Pit of Despair (B) or Dark Forest (C).

Artifact – red artifact [35 points].

Pit of Despair (B)collect artifact and decide exit strategy. Teams may mount elevated platform (Broken Bridge ramp) to enter Observatory (E) or negotiate mechanical or electrical doors. Mechanical doors allow entry to Dark Forest (C) or Treasury of the Orb (D). They may need to be pulled down for entry and require ascending/descending stability. Electrical doors must be activated by pushing a button (doors remain open once activated).

Artifact – grey artifact [25 points].

Dark Forest (C) – entry and exit between Dark Forest (C) and Pit of Despair (B) are controlled by mechanical doors, which may need to be pulled down for entry and require ascending/descending stability. To release artifact, teams must reach up and pull down suspended artifact.

Artifact – suspended blue artifact [60 points].

Treasury of the Orb (D) – entry and exit between Treasury of the Orb (D) and Pit of Despair (B) are controlled by mechanical doors, which may need to be pulled down for entry and require ascending/descending stability. Teams must find, collect and accurately drop or place artifact in correct pit (marked with home zone color).

Artifact – purple artifact dropped or placed in home zone pit [75 points]; dropped or placed in other pits [50 points].

Observatory (E) – teams enter by ascending ramp [Broken Bridge (A)] and jumping gap to Pit of Despair platform or pushing button to activate electrical doors. To release artifacts, teams must ascend ramp, mount rotating platform, push holding chamber door, and time platform exit to collect artifacts.

Artifact – 20 green artifacts [5 points each] and 1 legendary black artifact [150 points]—extra points for releasing artifacts [30 points].

Temple Guard – protects legendary artifact and attacks once a trial round causing teams to be reset with point deductions [15 points].
