Giving Sikorsky Australia the edge is what drives Jason Grieves.
Jason is the Commercial Customer Support Representative for Sikorsky Australia. Prior to this role Jason spent seven years as an aircraft technician in the Royal Australian Navy on both S-70B and MH-60R platforms.
“This experience provided me with the tools necessary to assist our commercial business in providing quick and efficient solutions,” said Jason.
“Coming from a military background, the opportunity to engage on the commercial front and learn about commercial aviation was too good to pass up. I believe my experience on the floor has provided the team and the company with an extra edge where efficiency is of the essence.“
Jason says Sikorsky Australia provides him with the opportunity to develop the expertise that helps to maintain the company’s position as industry leader.
“There’s no doubting that aviation is an ever growing sector and Sikorsky Australia is right in the thick of it. The experience base it has provided will allow me to evolve and develop future skills and qualities required to meet the ongoing demands of an aviation industry on the move.”
Jason says it is the people he works with that gives Sikorsky Australia the edge.
“The most rewarding aspect of working at Sikorsky Australia is working with a team devoted to going over and above. We help to ease and minimise the pressure and stress felt by our customers in carrying out their diverse operations.”
Alex Spence thrives on a challenge. The Technical Support Representative at Sikorsky Australia says he gets great satisfaction from being able to assist customers and provide a solution under challenging circumstances.
Alex started with Sikorsky Australia as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer eight years ago and worked in a number of technical roles and projects. When an opportunity to represent the company to customers in the Customer Support team came along he jumped on it.
Alex has held positions as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) and as a S-92 Field Support Technician.
“I worked as an AME for seven years with experience on a number of platforms including Sikorsky S-70, S-92, S-76 and Bell 206, 412 and 212, holding dual trade certification for both structures and mechanical trades,” he said.
“During my time with Sikorsky I was gifted with the ability to join the Field Team as a Support Technician for two years, working on S-92 programs such as the Phase III gearbox upgrade, Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) and other major structural repairs and modifications. This gave me the ability to understand what pressures our customers operate under and how as a business we need to deliver. This was the fire behind me stepping into a Customer Facing role.“
Alex says he loves the Sikorsky Australia brand, the opportunities and the work they do.
“I would characterise it as a loyal two-way journey. I have loyally served Sikorsky Australia for eight years and in return I have been treated well. I genuinely love what I do and love the organisation which I represent.
“With the leaders and mentors which we have at Sikorsky Australia I see my expertise developing and the future to be to be long and fruitful.”
