Each year since 2015, Lockheed Martin has conducted a Law Firm Diversity Assessment and today the corporation announced that it has selected Washington, D.C.-based Williams & Connolly, LLP for its 2020 recognition for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion, given the firm’s diverse staffing and year-over-year improvement in this area.
Lockheed Martin Corporation strives to do business with suppliers who share a commitment to diversity and champion their own programs to attract, develop and retain a diverse talent pool. This year the corporation assessed its top law firms and Williams & Connolly, LLP scored above industry average for its overall diversity, its staffing of Lockheed Martin matters, and for its percentage of female equity partners at the firm.

Lockheed Martin’s annual Law Firm Diversity Assessment compared diversity data provided by Williams & Connolly, LLP and other top law firms with industry averages and analyzed the data across the diversity dimensions of female, non-Caucasian, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered (LGBT) persons, individuals with disabilities, and veteran status for the total firm (US-based only), staffing of Lockheed Martin matters, and equity partnership.
Williams & Connolly, LLP succeeded in increasing the percentage of hours billed by females on Lockheed Martin matters and increased the percentage of hours billed by all minorities as compared to prior years. These increases contributed to Williams & Connolly, LLP’s outstanding performance.
