Available free via the Apple App or Google Play stores, the “Herc Support” app is designed and maintained by Lockheed Martin. The app features access to C-130 customer support and training solutions as well as information about the program, Sustainment kits and modification options.
“We created the Herc Support app as a way to connect our wide-reaching operating community directly to our unique and comprehensive C-130 support team,” said Laura Sampsel, director of Sustainment for Lockheed Martin’s Air Mobility & Maritime Missions (AMMM) line of business. “With more than 2,600 C-130s delivered to operators in 70 nations around the world, we want to offer support through every channel possible. This app helps us do just that — and more!”
The app recently went through a refresh and now offers even more resources for Herc operators. These features were added based on operator feedback. New features include:
- A Herc Update newsletter that is published bi-monthly with specific information focusing on maintenance topics.
- A direct link to request flight hour pins and certificates — a unique offering available only through Lockheed Martin.
“The app platform offers us a flexible and real-time tool to adapt our app offerings so we are always aligned with what best supports our operators,” Sampsel said. “As the C-130 Original Equipment Manufacturer, we have 65+ years of unique insights about the Herc that benefits our operator community. This app offers us a relevant and interactive way to share this knowledge.”
Lockheed Martin’s app development team continues to partner with the C-130 Sustainment team to explore new ways to expand the value of the Herc Support app for end users.
