Recognized for Sustained Excellence in Energy Efficiency
March 28, 2023
Lockheed Martin has been named 2023 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for the fifth year in a row, earning the distinguished Sustained Excellence Award for the third time.
Each year, the ENERGY STAR program honors businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements. ENERGY STAR award winners lead their industries in the production, sale, and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services, and strategies. These efforts are essential to fighting the climate crisis and protecting public health.
“As we accelerate historic efforts to address climate change, public-private partnerships will be essential to realizing the scale of our ambition,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “I applaud this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for working with EPA to deliver a clean energy future that saves American consumers and businesses money and creates jobs.”
2022 Highlights

- Installation of a twenty (20) megawatt single-axis photovoltaic system at our Palmdale, California facility—the largest privately-sited solar project in the local utility’s 50,000 square mile service area.
- Studying electrification opportunities at the corporation’s largest natural gas consuming sites.
- Achieving ENERGY STAR Certification Nation Member status for 6 ENERGY STAR certified buildings totaling 1,288,499 sq. ft. of space; on average ENERGY STAR buildings use 35% less energy than typical buildings.
