Testing Engineering Ethics
How would you meet the customer’s needs?
In today’s highly competitive marketplace, a single misstep in judgment can have major consequences. We believe it's important for students to think seriously about ethics before they enter the workforce.
This year, we hosted our 6th annual Ethics in Engineering Case Competition. We tripled the number of competitors, hosting over 70 colleges and universities as they presented solutions to a fictional case involving ethical, business and engineering dilemmas.
Our competition compels students to think about the importance of performing with integrity in the workplace and the various dilemmas that can arise, especially in the multifaceted and fast-paced world of technology.
This year’s case highlighted two companies under contract to develop an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) training system grappled with the impact of meeting cyber security requirements. How would you meet the customer’s needs?
