March 26, 2025
Longbow Limited Liability Company (Longbow LLC) —a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman — is proud to support the upcoming delivery of the AH-64E Apache aircraft to Australia. The Apache is widely recognized as the world's most advanced attack and reconnaissance helicopter, currently in use by the U.S. Army and twenty other allies around the globe. Over the next two years, Australia will receive AH-64 Apache aircraft, accompanied by a range of cutting-edge systems and munitions, including AN/APG-78 LONGBOW Fire Control Radars (FCR) and Radar Frequency Interferometer systems. The first aircraft is scheduled for delivery later this year.
In-Country Support: A Key Component of the Apache Package
A crucial aspect of the Apache delivery is the provision of in-country support, which will transition to Lockheed Martin Australia and Northrop Grumman Australia once the aircraft deliveries commence. This transition will provide Australia with a solid foundation for supporting the Apache fleet, as well as potential future advanced airborne weapon systems. The Special Repair Activity (SRA), which supports advanced maintenance of the LONGBOW FCR and local repair of most Gen 3 Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (TADS/PNVS) system repairable parts, will also be established in-country, ensuring the Australian military has the necessary resources to maintain and repair their Apache sensor systems.
