Employee Focused Programs

At Lockheed Martin, we support employee career growth and development through programs such as leadership workshops, networking opportunities, skill enhancement seminars, and mentoring relationships. Our employee-focused programs also center on providing academic scholarships, supporting our colleges and universities, and helping fellow employees during their time of need.

Our Disaster Relief Fund highlights the values and integrity of our workforce. When unforeseen tragedy impacts our Lockheed Martin community they can request financial assistance through this program. Employees can request relief through LMPeople > Work Environment > Community Involvement > Employee Disaster Relief Fund.

Employees are able to participate in our University Matching Gift Program.  Giving back to the colleges and universities that helped shape the lives and careers of our employees demonstrates the value we place on education and the respect we have for the teachers and professors who are shaping our future. Employees can learn more through LMPeople > Work Environment >Community Involvement > University Matching Gift.

Lockheed Martin continues to look for ways to improve the lives of its employees, better align itself with its philanthropic efforts and create inclusive employee programs. Thank you for your support as we continue to improve our workplace.

Lockheed Martin Disaster Relief Fund

With offices located around the nation and the globe, it is inevitable that Lockheed Martin employees will be affected by natural or terroristic disasters of a catastrophic nature.

Lockheed Martin has a standing relief fund to assist our colleagues based on an objective needs assessment in federally declared disaster areas or in the case of certain other disasters. The Lockheed Martin Employee Disaster Relief Fund (LMEDRF) was established in 2006. Since then, employees have contributed nearly $10 million to the LMEDRF to build up its resources in preparation for disasters.

Employees can learn more or apply for assistance through the Community Involvement section of LMPeople > Work Environment >Community Involvement > Employee Disaster Relief Fund.

How the Fund works:

The LMEDRF is activated in response to disasters that fall under specific criteria. It is intended to be used for short-term, emergency assistance in the face of disaster.

The process is initiated when Lockheed Martin employees are impacted by a disaster that,

  • The U.S. President declares a major disaster,
  • Results from a terroristic or military action,
  • Results from an accident involving a common carrier, or
  • From any other event which is determined by the U.S. IRS/Treasury Department to be of a catastrophic nature.

Gift Matching Program for Colleges and Universities

The purpose of the Lockheed Martin Matching Gift Program for Colleges and Universities is to recognize the colleges and universities of the United States whose graduates contribute so importantly to Lockheed Martin's capability and growth, and to provide incentive for employees to make regular financial contributions to colleges and universities.

Lockheed Martin matches the tax-deductible portion of employee gifts to accredited colleges and universities. Donations must be personal gifts (not merely pledged) made directly to an eligible college or university in the form of check or cash, or as securities having a quoted market value. Gifts must be between $25 and $10,000 per employee, per year. Purchases of goods or services, such as athletic event tickets, will not be matched.
