Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship

Welcome to the Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program! Whether you are a student, parent, family member, instructor, school administrator, or just interested in STEM education, we are excited to share more about our efforts to support the academic endeavors of learners across the nation.

In January 2020, Lockheed Martin launched the Vocational Scholarship program to support students of all ages participating in skills-based training in engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing fields. The Vocational Scholarship program is a critical component of Lockheed Martin’s investment in workforce development and education.

In 2022, Lockheed Martin’s Vocational Scholarship Program will award up to $5,000 to as many as 150 recipients.

Vocational Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Applicants to the Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program must meet all the following eligibility requirements. Applicants must: 

  1. Be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Be a high school senior OR high school graduate (or GED equivalent).
  3. Have not earned a bachelor’s degree prior to the 2022-23 academic year.
  4. Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll part- or full-time at one of the following types of accredited institutions: vocational technical school, trade school, two-year community college or state college.
  5. Be pursuing an associate’s degree, credit-bearing certificate or an industry-recognized credential, in one of the fields of study below, with an anticipated completion date no earlier than December 2022 and no later than June 2025.
  6. Note: If student’s Specific Major falls under one of the listed Fields of Study, but the student’s Specific Major is not listed, student is still eligible to apply.

Vocational Scholarship Selection of Recipients

  • Scholarship recipients are selected based on consideration of academic performance, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside appraisal.
  • Preference will be given to applicants enrolled or planning to enroll at one of Lockheed Martin’s priority institutions. It is not mandatory to attend one of the priority institutions to be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Additional consideration will be given to applicants who self-identify as members of the following groups: Women; Racial and ethnic minorities; Individuals with a disability (as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act); Individuals that identify as LGBTQ; Individuals that are or will be first-generation college students; Active Duty U.S. military, including Reserves and National Guard; U.S. military Veteran, including Reserves and National Guard; Spouse of U.S. military Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, or Veteran
  • Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Lockheed Martin play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
