Uncovering Origins
Following a red-hot descent through Earth’s atmosphere NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft, designed and built by Lockheed Martin engineers, delivered samples to Earth that it collected during its historic seven-year mission to asteroid Bennu. This carbon-rich asteroid that could hold clues about the development of the solar system. The spacecraft is now called OSIRIS-APEX and is on its way to another asteroid, Apophis.

Redefining Global Air Power
Today, over 2,200 F-35 pilots and 15,000+ maintainers are trained from across 10 nations.
The Future is Nuclear
Lockheed Martin was notified by DARPA that it won the contract to develop and demonstrate a nuclear-powered spacecraft. The project will represent a rapid advancement in propulsion technology to benefit exploration and national defense. DARPA partnered with NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate on the DRACO project, as both agencies will benefit from this leading-edge technology.
Ramping up Production
As demand increases for tailored solutions both domestically and internationally, Lockheed Martin continues ramping up production on vital capabilities. Notably, PAC-3 and HIMARS are delivering JADO-enabling solutions to Poland and our European partners to help meet their needs and protect what matters most.
Celebrating Lasting Legacies
2023 marked two anniversaries, 80 years of innovation at Skunk Works® and a century since aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky founded Sikorsky Aero Engineering Company.
Delivering 5,000 “Hawks”
Sikorsky delivered its 5,000th “Hawk” variant helicopter, a U.S. Army UH-60M Black Hawk. The iconic aircraft will continue to support medium-lift requirements for the U.S. military and international operators for decades in the future.
Superior Maritime Systems and Solutions
In April, Lockheed Martin hit milestones for two maritime systems and solutions programs. Spain signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance for eight MH-60 Seahawk aircrafts and the Littoral Combat Ship 31, the future USS Cleveland was christened and launched. Lockheed Martin was also selected by the U.S. Navy as its Systems Engineering and Software Integration agent for the service’s Integrated Combat System. Lockheed Martin will design system architecture and capabilities that will allow software updates to be delivered in real-time across the Navy’s surface fleet.
In the Community
With Rebuilding Together, Lockheed Martin employees have been teaming up with local affiliates of the nonprofit through their Veterans at Home program to provide critical home and veteran center repairs and accessibility modifications for veterans in thirteen communities. Affording peace of mind to a veteran and their family is priceless.
Successful Flight Tests & Deliveries
In the fourth quarter, Lockheed Martin delivered the first Precision Strike Missiles (PrSMs), achieving a major U.S. Army modernization milestone and supporting our partner’s 21st Century Security needs. Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army also successfully launched PrSM in a short-range production qualification test, demonstrating precision and reliability.
Super Herc at Work
Australia announced it will buy 20 new C-130J aircraft, which will increase the size of the Royal Australian Air Force’s fleet of tactical airlift aircraft by two-thirds. The Philippines, a long-term Herc operator, also announced the acquisition of three new C-130J-30 Super Hercules.
Falcon Forward
Lockheed Martin unveiled the first F-16 Block 70 aircraft for the Slovak Republic, the first European country to receive this newest and most capable version of the Fighting Falcon. Lockheed Martin also signed a Letter of Intent to establish the first European F-16 Training Center in Romania.
Realizing the Next-Gen of Joint All Domain Operations
In August, Australia announced Lockheed Martin was selected as the strategic partner to build phase 1 or AIR6500. This first-of-its-kind system will provide the Australian Defence Force with greater situational awareness and defense against increasingly advanced air and missile threats.It will also give the ADF increased levels of interoperability with the United States and allied partners.
